Fazeley Chapel. Constructed in 1884, is a former Methodist church and has just been completely renovated into 5 luxury apartments.
We were appointed to carry out the part L compliance checks and MEP design for this project. We also aided in the utility management of incoming connections.
The church was a listed building so integrating mechanical and electrical plant was a difficult task.
We worked closely with the local conservation trust, on-site contractor and architect to ensure our items of plant blended in to the building offering no visual obtrusions.
We used slimline ducting along with a low profile MEV unit for ventilation services. This ensured our penetrations out of the façade were kept to a minimum.
The site was an all-electric scheme in where no gas or LPG were present. The client therefore opted for an environmentally friendly rated hot water cylinder along with ‘smart’ panel radiators.
