Hazelbank House
We are happy to announce that Hazelbank House in Shrewsbury is now complete.
This one-off residential dwelling is situated on the banks of the River Severn in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
The property is constructed over 3 floors and accommodates a gym, yoga studio, outdoor swimming pool and cinema room.
This home was completed in July 2023 and Shire Group were involved from conception to handover, Shire group offered the client (homeowners) with all the help they needed to ensure the home they wanted was delivered to an excellent standard and within budget.
Shire Group were initially appointed to carry out RIBA stages 2 to 4 M&E design to enable the client / main contractor team (MAR Design) to go out to tender and gain accurate prices based on the scale of works required.
Our consultant team attended various site meetings on the property with the construction / client team to discuss, LZC aspirations / home comfort requirements.
We then created a full set of M&E tender issue drawings and schematics detailing installation requirements, positioning of items and specification documents.
Upon completion of our tender documentation our client requested that we remain on the construction programme (client side) and assisted them with a project management service for the mechanical and electrical installation works.
We therefore progressed through from stage 4 to 5 and planned, managed and assisted in the installation of MEP items listed within our stage 4 tender technical drawings.
The property briefly comprises of whole house ventilation with comfort cooling. An air source heat pump serving swimming pool facilities and 2no gas fire condensing boilers for the underfloor heating & domestic hot water.
The property also has a storage tank and booster facility to ensure the flow rate / pressure to the property remains at 3bar pressure. Thus ensuring the family can enjoy showers simultaneously without the typical issues of pressure / flow reductions.
The house has a full smart home integration via Control 4 and a building management system to highlight potential faults in equipment should they arise.
Lighting was supplied via Collingwood Lighting and offered a nice architectural finish to the property.
The family is now living in the property, and we are in regular contact with them since completion to ensure everything is running smoothly and to ensure they are maximising the property infrastructure to its fullest potential.
